About Us

Welcome to the Education Big Data Center (EBDC) at National Chi-Nan University. Our mission is to revolutionize the management of educational information and policy-making in Taiwan, fostering progress and innovation.

In response to a global shift towards digitalization of administrative and academic tasks in schools, governments globally are focusing their efforts on building robust, national-level educational databases. These databases, created by gathering information from educational institutions across the nation, serve as crucial tools for making informed, scientific decisions in educational policy-making.

Established in 2010, the EBDC has taken the lead in addressing these needs by cultivating a team specialized in educational standards and ecosystems. We've forged a unique alliance with the K-12 Education Administration and the National Chi Nan University, creating multiple educational information platforms for senior high schools. Our project encompasses the development and management of various national-level senior high school application systems, while continuously amassing administrative and educational data from schools to form a comprehensive, national-level education database.

Fast forward 12 years, the EBDC team has grown to include 6 esteemed professors from the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, along with 45 dedicated engineers and 40 administrative specialists. With grants amounting to NT$820 million (US$27 million), we have triumphantly launched over 20 database systems, incorporating aspects of teaching, student affairs, administrative affairs, and admissions from senior high schools nationwide.

Today, the EBDC stands as an essential rural information hub, exemplifying successful government collaboration and contributing significantly to Taiwan's educational sector. As we move forward, we remain steadfast in our commitment to continually enrich our nation's educational environment, leveraging the power of data to shape the future of education in Taiwan.
